Sheffield was the place to be for BMX on Sunday 13 September 2026. Red Bull Sessions came to our home city for a street jam with Waller BMX and DIG BMX, bringing riders together for a day built around street spots, sessioning with your mates and having a good laugh doing what we love, BMX!
For us, seeing a major BMX event roll through Sheffield was something special. Waller BMX has been rider owned and run here since 2012, and jams have always been about more than watching the biggest names ride. They're a chance for local riders, younger riders and people who have travelled in to share the same spots and push each other. We first opened our store in 2012 and opened with a Sheffield street jam which was the start of this BMX community journey.
A BMX street jam across Sheffield
Rather than staying at one venue, the jam moved across the city. Red Bull described the day as a ride-out across five Sheffield locations, with cash for tricks along the way and a final stop at Peddler. That format gave riders a proper reason to explore Sheffield together: find a line, watch somebody see a spot differently, and move on to the next session.
Garrett Reynolds aka the GOAT joined the Sheffield jam, which was a huge moment for everyone who has followed his street riding over the years. Seeing riders of different ages and experience levels turn up for the same day is what makes a street jam exciting. The riding matters, but so does the atmosphere around it.
Why it meant a lot to Waller BMX
We started Waller BMX to support the scene we ride in. Helping bring Red Bull Sessions and DIG BMX to Sheffield gave us a chance to put our city and its BMX legendary status riders in front of a much wider BMX audience. It's also a reminder that you don't have to travel halfway across the world to find riders worth watching or spots worth filming. Let's not forget Sheffield has brewed some of the best street riders in the world producing Voices and Tomorrow We Work just to name a few cough cough Melon | Slack.
Thanks to Red Bull and DIG BMX for making the Sheffield session happen, and to every rider, filmer, photographer and supporter who came along. Whether you were riding or filming or just wanted to spend the day with your mates, you were part of it.
